Boldin, Holt And A Heart Attack

I'll admit it, it's a slow day for Eagles' news.  So I share this bit of news that I came across in today's NY Daily News.

There is a new study reporting "that fans whose team loses the NFL title game [Super Bowl] are at increased risk for death by heart attack."  Says Dr. Robert Kloner, "Both losing a Super Bowl game and the intensity of the game may play a role."

So to Eagles' fans Andy Reid was only thinking of our well-being when losing those 4 NFC Championship games.

In other more serious news…Gary Myers of the NY Daily News is reporting today that the Giants appear unable to get Anquan Boldin or Brylan Edwards.  Cards coach Ken Whisenhunt said that the Cards are negotiating with Bolden on a new deal to replace the two years left on his contract…"We haven't thought about him not coming back, says Ken."

If the Cardinals are truly working on a new deal with Boldin that is crushing news to this Eagles' fan.  But on the flip side I would rather Boldin stay with the Cardinals then sign with the hated Giants (if the Eagles can't land him).  The inability of the Giants to so far replace Plaxico gives the Eagles a fair shot at the NFC East division title.

And if Boldin and Edwards won't be available, is anyone else warming up to the idea of bringing Torry Holt to the Eagles?  Yeah I know that the Eagles have already said they have no interest and most fans think Holt will continue his decline.

But if Holt is so washed up why would one of the leagues' top teams, the Titans, be showing interest in him?  Again on a down year, playing on a pathetic offensive unit, Holt still finished with almost 800 receiving yards. Seems like an upgrade over Brown or Baskett to this fan.
