Eagles Fever Is Still Alive

Because I am a fan I have to include myself in the bunch.  All off-season we voice our displeasure with the team for not signing or trading for a #1 WR.

We can't understand the Banner "business" plan that didn't have Dawkins back in Eagles' green next season.  When the coach conducts interviews that don't answer any questions and his only answers insult our intelligence it annoys us to no end.

We see a team that again fell short in an NFC Championship Game yet to us doesn't appear to be making the necessary moves with the urgency to bring the Lombardi trophy to Philadelphia.

Instead we think that the team is more concerned with dollars and cents and fielding a team that is good but never great.  The salary cap championship appears to be the only title within reach.

We think that after 10 seasons and no Super Bowl that maybe a change at the top is needed.  We see an offensive attack that excels when balanced but unfortunately is rarely a balanced attack.  We see a top-5 QB whose talent is being wasted by not having true offensive weapons around him.

But despite all of this we continue to support the Eagles.  They have us hooked and they know it.  In the off-season we may claim that we are done with the Eagles…no more!

But when September again rolls around our Sundays will be spent in front of the TV or down at the Linc cheering Fly, Eagles, Fly.  Our mood on Monday morning will no doubt be determined by the outcome of the Eagles' game.

This was all made evident again today when Draft Day Party tickets sold out in just hours.  Tickets to watch draft picks announced on TV.  You could have just as easily of stayed home.  But when there is Eagles anything we go nuts.

Same thing with the announcement of the Preseason schedule today.  Friends, who maybe can't afford regular season tickets, were already talking about scoring tickets to check out the 2009 team.

We love our Eagles.  They may not always deserve our undying allegiance, but we are always there to give it and will continue to give it.
