Around the NFL – April 5

Notice that six teams were viewing Brandon Pettigrew as he went through his Pro Day but the Eagles weren't one of them.  The Eagles will not draft Pettigrew because they consider Brent Celek to be a number one tight end.

Plaxico Burress who just was released by the New York Giants was at the Final Four in Detroit, checking out his Michigan State Spartans as they upset the UConn Huskies on their way to the championship game against North Carolina Tar Heels on Monday night.

I could see the Al Davis making another dumb move and selecting Darrius Heyward-Bey of Maryland in the first round.   Heyward-Bey ran the fastest time at the combine and you know how Davis feels about speed.

He should take Michael Crabtree or Jeremy Maclin but watch the Raiders make another dumb move.

Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell must have his head on a swivel after spending a week wondering if Jay Cutler was taking his place while he was being traded.  Then on Friday, Byron Leftwich was visiting the Skins for in plans to back Campbell up.

ProFootballTalk.com says they learned Campbell was upset by the trade talk and plans on using it as motivation to make himself a better quarterback
