Scout.com is reporting that Baylor's Jason Smith who will likely be selected either first or second in the upcoming NFL draft, is in town visiting the Eagles at the Nova Care complex.
This visit is nothing but due diligence on the Eagles part. This kid won't become a Bird.
The big guy has all the Eagles would want in a left tackle except he's going to be drafted too early for the Birds to get him. Of course they could mortgage their entire draft and acquire via trade but that woudn't make a lot of sense.
The Eagles fell in love with this kid early on right after the off season began and the coaches started looking at tape. Unfortunately for the Birds, everybody else started liking him as well.
