Pettigrew Is In Town Visiting Birds

The Eagles have some big boys in town today with Jason Peters on his way and the highest rated  tight end in the draft Brandon Pettigrew of Oklahoma State visiting the Birds today.

Pettigrew is a complete tight end who can both run routes, get open, catch the football and block.  Did you hear that?  This guy can block and the Birds are in desperate need of it.

There's one big problem and it's the fact that they see Brent Celek as a starter.  You and I know the Eagles are going to bring Pettigrew in here with a first round pick and put him on the bench.

If they thought Celek wasn't a starter then you could see them grabbing him.  I would love to see it because, if you put the Andrews boys on one side and Peters and Todd Herremans on the other with either Jamaal Jackson or Nick Cole at center, the Birds should be able to run the football.

They should draft another running back to back up Brian Westbrook and then run the ball more.  The additions of Peters and Andews gives them a couple of good run blocking tackles.

I just don't see the Eagles drafting Pettigrew but it's worth talking about.

If they don't get Pettigrew they can still get a tight end who can block, later in the draft.  You have to be able to run the ball on short yardage and goalline.
