I learned a couple of months ago that Sheldon Brown was very upset about his contract. Now Brown has made his unhappiness public according to ESPN. He wants a new deal or to be traded.
I knew this was going to go public sooner or later. Brown had been stewing about his contract since the season ended.
It didn't help things, when Brown saw his former teammate Lito Sheppard go to the Jets and get a huge raise. Brown has been with the Eagles six years and done everything the team has asked him to do.
For that he finds himself making much less money than Sheppard who complained about his contract and was hurt quite a bit. Sheppard did go to a couple of Pro Bowls but Brown was the more consistent of the two.
Brown has become a leader on the defense and he's the most complete corner on the football team.
So with the draft just days away, the Birds have another problem. They've got an unhappy starting cornerback.
From what I understand, Brown let the Eagles know that he wanted a new deal, but they're not willing to give him one, so he's made his unhappiness public.
