ProFootballTalk.com is reporting that the Cardinals have only $1.29 millon dollars in cap room space avaiable. Jamison Hensley of the Baltimore Sun says the Ravens don't have what it takes to trade for Anquan Boldin.
Joe Banner left the door open publicly by saying the Eagles will try any player who is available and able to make the Birds a better footll team.
Hensley says Baltimore will probably have to bow out of the Boldin chase. The Ravens only have six draft picks this year, so the thought of them giving up a first and third draft pick for Boldin is unlikely.
There have been three teams – the Eagles, Giants and Ravens – reported to be interested in trading for Boldin. If the Ravens are indeed out of the running that gives the Eagles more of a chance.
If New York was to grab Braylon Edwards then the Eagles could wind up being the only team interested.
It sounds like some great circumstances could develop for the Eagles if they wanted to trade for Boldin but I don't think the Eagles have the interest.
Perhaps the Cardinals will get desperate and give the Birds a discount on Boldin. I do think the Eagles would be interested in him for a discounted price.
Oh I forgot, if they were to trade for Boldin and give him a new deal, that would make Sheldon Brown even more upset. They can't do that.
