Reggie Brown Says He Must Play

Reggie Brown was on Comcast Sportsnet this morning letting the Eagles know that he's not going to tolerate not playing.

Last year Brown was hobbled by injuries early in the season and there wasn't a spot for him later in the year when he got healthy.

Brown said he understood the situation last year but he won't put up with being an "Oak Ridge Boy" this year.

The former Georgia Bulldog started out telling Comcast Sportsnet's Derrick Gunn about how he would be focused on trying to be the best player he can be.

Brown continued by talking about keeping his head up and focusing on improving specific parts of his game.  Brown said, "No matter who is out there, I'm going to go out there and do my thing."

He said he's going to stay positive and make the best out of the situation he's in right now.

After that comment, the wide reciever started down a different path with the comment, "I'm not going to force the issue unless I have to".

Reggie intimated that he will create controversy if he winds up not playing.  Brown said he'll have to possibly do what some of his teammates and former teammates have done.

He finished by saying that he knows he should be playing and everybody knows he should be playing.

I guess I'm not part of everybody.

I think Reggie is a good receiver.  He's gotten a bad rap because he followed Terrell Owens and few receivers come out looking good when compared to Owens.

I believe he can and should be playing in this league but I don't think he is good enough to be a starter or third receiver for the Birds.  In the right situation, Brown can be a solid contributor.

I don't think he should be playing over DeSean Jackson, Kevin Curtis or Jeremy Maclin.  He won't make the team if he's a backup because he doesn't play the special teams as well as Jason Avant and Hank Baskett.

I'm sure that barring injury, Brown will be either be traded or released before the season starts.
