I haven't been down at the Eagles practices, so I have to chime in on other things. Like ex-players getting busted for drugs and burglary.
Yep, Ryan Leaf's story continues to get worse. Today, he was indicted in Texas on seven counts of Obtaining a Controlled Substance by Fraud (are charges by the authorities always capitalized or am I just noticing this for the first time?), one count of Burglary Of a Habitation (no, I think this is just poorly written by the folks down at KFDA-TV News Channel 10 down in Texas. But I'm going to copy their wording in case they are right. I definitely can't see "of" getting a capital O on it), and one count of Delivery Of a Controlled Substance.
The charges range from offenses occurring between January 2008 and October 2008. There isn't much more to the report regarding the potential penalties he will face.
You'll remember that he resigned as a coach at West Texas A&M University last year after asking a player for a pain pill. So based on that nugget of information, I'm going to go ahead and jump to the conclusion that these offenses relate to pain pills. Despite the fact that I have no clue if these offenses relate to pain pills. Just a guess.
