I got a tip from my buddies at TMZ.com (they publish this stuff on their site so it's not like I'm really privy to this private info) that Jeremy Shockey was taken on a stretcher to a Vegas hospital.
He was at the Rehab party at the Hard Rock when he was found unconscious at around 2 PM. If you haven't heard about the Rehab party, it's a huge bash at the Hard Rock with a butt ton of drinking. According to TMZ's sources, paramedics tried to cover him up the Saints TE on the stretcher to give him some privacy.
I've heard stories about Shockey pounding a case of Corona in an evening during his rookie year up here in NY. Then supposedly he would do a ton of push ups before eventually heading to bed. I guess that's how he justified it. And we all remember the 2007 Super Bowl where he was double-fisting up in the booth, so I wouldn't be surprised if he overdid it on the booze.
Then again, the fact that he does like to imbibe should mean that he has a better tolerance and can keep it together better. Then again, there is really not much information on this story so I'm really speculating.
I should be outside BBQ'ing and living it up Jeremy Shockey style and instead I'm inside speculating about Jeremy Shockey. We'll keep you posted when we know more. About Shockey, not about me BBQ'ing.
