This camp is looking more and more like an extension of the rookie camp the Birds finished last week. It seems every other throw is to Maclin, McCoy or Ingram.
Andy Reid said he wanted to get the rookies plenty of reps, well he and the coaching staff are doing just that.
The practices start off featuring DeSean Jackson, but after the first third of practice, they then tell him to chill out and they start getting ball to three rookies. On one play it's an inside route to Maclin, the next play is a screen to McCoy and after that they're going down the middle to Ingram.
They've still got quite a bit of work to get done but Reid and his staff are getting it to them quickly. Maclin took a while to get going this morning, but he finished strong and wound up with a bunch catches on the day.
They've got him running a lot of the intermediate routes where he comes back for the ball.
He still has a ways to go but he's making progress day by day. At the running back position, it was another day of LeSean McCoy lining up all over the place. You can see that Donovan McNabb is getting comfortable when he spots him running a short route.
McCoy has proven to be sure-handed when it comes to catching the football. Cornelius Ingram made a great catch on a corner route. The young tight end stretched his arms and body as far as he could go and pulled in the throw.
He also made quite a few outstanding catches across the middle. It may seem like no big deal but this young man catches the football in his hands.
Again all the rookies are getting plenty of work.
