Brian Westtbrook's absence from the Eagles lineup could wind up being a good thing if he comes back healthy for the regular season.
If he's healthy we all know what this guy can do.
While he's not available a number of good things could happen.
In training camp, if the offensive line gets used to holding their blocks longer with the other backs on the team, they'll be doing a great job when Westbrook gets back. He's the quickest back they have on the team.
If the tight ends, Brent Celek and Cornelius Ingram are pushed a bit because without Westbrook in there, the coaching staff develops more ways to get the tight ends involved, the offense will be more lethal when he gets back.
I'll guarantee you that the Eagles are going to utilize Jeremy Maclin by lining him up all over the place. Westbrook's absence will force Andy and Marty to find ways to get mismatches with Maclin and of course DeSean Jackson.
Without him here, it forces other Eagles players to take on bigger roles. I guarantee you that LeSean McCoy is being forced to learn the system faster because he's going day after day with the first team.
The sense of urgency will be even greater when training camp and the preseason starts and Westbrook isn't taking all the snaps.
Don't get me wrong, the Eagles need Westbrook back desperately, but it's going to force some growth from everybody else which could be a good thing.
