Curtis pushing himself

WR Kevin Curtis is returning from a painful sports hernia surgery and trying to get himself back on the field.

This worries me.  You know he's out there pushing himself to be his best because he sees a certain rookie wide receiver getting better and better by the day.  He knows Maclin is there to take his job.

This concerns me.  Jobs shouldn't be won and lost in voluntary workouts.  It's more important for Curtis to get all the way back healthy, than to show he can run a fly route in shorts.  But the good news is that Curtis says he feels good after today.

"It felt good today after taking a couple of days off," said Curtis. "It was more than I had been doing, and it felt good. I feel like I'm making good progress."

I'd actually like to see Curtis lose his job to Maclin and play the slot.  That's his natural position and where he excelled with the Rams.  I don't know if Joe Banner is going to like what he sees when he cross references Curtis's possible slot position with his salary, but that's a discussion for another day.  But, Curtis as the #3 receiver puts three darn good players out there at wide receiver.  That is some serious speed.

Remember Charles Johnson and Torrance Small?  That's a pretty far cry from those guys.
