Eagles meeting with Jarmon

Joe Schad of ESPN.com reports that the Eagles are planning to meet with NCAA-ineligible defensive end Jeremy Jarmon on Tuesday.

Jarmon is preparing for the NFL's July 16th supplemental draft, which is held for players who weren't eligible for the main draft in April.  Just fyi, if you take a player in this draft, you lose that round's pick in next year's draft.  So if the Eagles take Jarmon in the third round, they'll lose their third-round pick next April.

Jarmon lost his NCAA eligibility for testing positive for a banned substance.  He says he's told NFL teams what it was, but doesn't want to discuss it with the media.

"I told the NFL teams that have called that I don't even have a speeding ticket," Jarmon said. "If they take me they're not going to have any off-the-field problems."

NFL teams will compete via email and the team that is willing to surrender the highest pick in next year's draft will land Jarmon.
