Another reporter was saying negative things about Kevin Kolb yesterday and I mentioned some of it in an article yesterday, but I still believe Kolb is a promising young quarterback.
I just became aware of the fact that my mention of Kolb throwing interception after interception at practice yesterday and the mention of the quote by somebody else has been taken too seriously.
I don't take scouting team interceptions very seriously. A lot of scout team plays go bad and that's the design of the practice.
It isn't that big of a deal. It's not like he's working with the team's first team offense and throwing interceptions. In some cases, he's merely trying to give the defense a good look.
Although I don't think throwing interceptions is anything a quarterback would want to get into the habit of doing, it's not something to take seriously.
There were times in the past when Kolb and the scout team has sliced up the Eagles number one defense, but the match-up isn't really fair because most of the time, the defense has a good idea what the offense is going to do.
The scout team offense's job is to compete but make sure they give the defense a good look.
Throwing interceptions in scout team periods has been done by every backup quarterback who has ever played in the NFL.
Kevin Kolb is still a promising young quarterback with tremendous potential.
