Derrick Gunn of Comcast Sportsnet is reporting that Donovan Mcnabb and the Eagles are getting close to a deal which would restructure the last two years of his contrract.
The veteran quarterback is slated to make $9.2 million this year and $10 million in 2010.
He's been looking especially sharp throwing the ball downfield to his group of speedy recervers, DeSean Jackson, Kevin Curtis, and Jeremy Maclin.
He's with a doubt the leader of this football team. He's kind of mesmerized the youngsters he's working with now because so many of these youngters grew up watching him on television.
Maclin and LeSean McCoy were ten or eleven years old when McNabb broke into the league in 1999. He directs them and corrects them during practice and they're responding.
Numerous times at the end of practice you see Andy Reid take McNabb to the side to talk. I have no idea what they're talking about but it clearly looks like Reid is talking to the leader of his football team.
