Eagles head coach Andy Reid gave us an update on the progress of defensive coordinator Jim Johnson and star running back Brian Westbrook.
Reid spoke about his defensive coordinator Johnson who is enduring his second bout with cancer.
"Some days are good days. Some days are not very good days," Reid said. "He is receiving chemotherapy and pretty intense chemotherapy. There are just some days that that stuff gets you, and then there are other days that he feels pretty good. I have a chance to talk to him about every day, and he's a battler."
Secondary coach Sean McDermott is now the interim defensive coordinator for the team until Johnson returns.
With regard to Westbrook who recently had surgery on one of his ankles to remove bone spurs. The head coach said Westbrook has "started his rehab process and is working to get ready for training camp."
According to the doctors, he's going to have quite a battle getting back before training camp ends.
