Will We See The Real BWest Again?

I was walking by Eagles trainer Rick Burkholder last week and I joked with him that he was the key to the Eagles season.

I was kidding but I really wasn't kidding. I was thinking about BWest.

I saw him hobbling out to practice last year.  There were no smiles.  I knew it was painful.

He would workout on Friday's for a little bit then go back into the training room.  The rest of the week he would be in the training room.

I've seen this happen to some great players.  It was happening to Westbrook and there wasn't much anybody could do.

He was nothing but a decoy in the NFC Championship game.  Any and all the offense had to come through McNabb and the Cardinals took a while but eventually realized that they weren't playing against the real Westbrook.

He has the playmaking ability to make the Eagles nearly impossible to stop.

Were something to open up for a scramble early in a game and McNabb were to take off for 10 or 15 yards, the opposing defense might just walk off the field because there would too many weapons to defend.

If we could have the same guy, a healthy BWest, who can't be tackled in the open field by one tackler, it will mean some very late nights for opposing defensive coordinators.

I tell you right now after watching DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin beat people deep in the OTA's, if they can get Westbrook up and running, they're going to be lethal on offense.

I see five and six play touchdown drives.

There's no way you can control both the deep routes and Westbrook with his screens and short routes.  He'll also be a major threat in the running game.

The key will be whether the real Westbrook will return or will it be that imposter who played in the NFC Championship game.

Stay tuned.
