Cowboys Trying To Copy Eagles

Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Jason Garrett is planning on taking a page from Andy Reid and his creative use of Brian Westbrook.  They want to do the same with speedy halfback, Felix Jones.

The Eagles move Westbrook outside to force the defense into making changes and adjustments.  It has always created mismatches for the Birds.  The Cowboys hope to get the same to take advantage of Jones' ability.

It seems that Garrett, who has been looking for additional roles for Jones in their offense, wants to employ the speedster by moving him around in the offense.  He is clearly one of their most dangerous weapons.

They're going to have him shift from the backfield out to a wide receiver spot.  With Marion Barber still at the fullback position, it will force a defense to either play the run first or change the defense to defend the pass first.

Jones will likely be covered by a safety or a linebacker.  We all know there's not a linebacker in the league who can run with him.

It could be a good formula for them but the key will be Jones.

I know he has speed but can he run decent routes at the wide receiver position.  Will he be able to consistently hang onto the football?

If he's able be consistent catching the football, I think this a good idea and it will allow them to put more pressure on the defense.

This is a good idea for the Cowboys because I don't think Roy Williams and Jason Witten can get the job done alone.
