Cunningham #4 On Thrill List

Sports Illustrated's Peter King put together an NFL "Thrill List" which consists of the most exciting players in NFL history.  Former Eagles quarterback Randall Cunningham was number 4 on the list.

Cunningham was the most talented player I ever played with.  He had the speed, quickness and ball skills to be an All-Pro wide receiver, punt returner or punter.

Buddy Ryan asked him to just create offense out of the air.  He could do it most of the time but this plan backfired in the playoffs.

In truth Peter King's list is a joke because you can't go back to the sixties and compare the players from that era to today.

Look at the defensive backs chasing Gale Sayers and Jim Brown and you see guys who look like they're running in cement.  Sayers and Brown were playing against a lot of inferior athletes.

If you get the chance to see some of that footage make it a point to look at the athletes chasing the ball carrier and tell me if any of them could have played college football nowadays.

Defensive backs from the 60's on back were a lot of guys who couldn't play.  If you close at some of the defensive backs, you will laugh.

As far as I'm concerned Barry Sanders should be the number one guy on the list.  I don't think Bo Jackson played long enough to be on any list.

2. Barry Sanders

3. Deion Sanders

4.Randall Cunningham, Bo Jackson

5. Buddy Young

6. Devin Hester

7. Don Hutson
