I hope you checked out the video by Cowboys backup tight end Martellus Bennett. It's silly and I didn't find it all that funny. He's trying to be a comedian but some sportswriters are calling the video racist.
Yes he is pushing the envelope by doing a fried chicken and watermelon eating contest along with a Kool-Aid drinking contest and calling it the "Black Olympics".
Still it's obvious that the dude is trying to be a comedian.
Jason Whitlock of KansasCity.com, whom I respect as a sportswriter got this one wrong. He's trying to make this video seriously when the video is a joke. Whitlock tries to treat this like he committed some type of serious crime. It's a joke.
I don't understand how he does a silly video on Youtube and Jean Jacques Taylor of Dallasnews.com starts bringing up people like Rosa Parks and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
If this video is racist, then all the black comedians like Chris Rock, Steve Harvey, Jamie Foxx, Eddie Murphy and Wanda Sykes, who use the N-Word and call black women hoes and go much further playing on all the black stereotypes, are all racist as well.
These guys are applauded and allowed to host the black awards shows and tell more black jokes during the event.
These guys have made millions of dollars doing much worst than Bennett but these sportswriters haven't written articles about them, they probably have their CD's at the house and go to their concerts.
If Jean Jacques Taylor isn't complaining about all the musicians he shouldn't be complaining about a amateur comedian like Bennett.
