I was just listening to Glen Macnow and Ray Didinger on WIP (still am actually. Listening online now) and they were talking about which Eagles players were in the top five in the league at their positions.
Ray believes that Jason Peters is in the top five left tackles in football if he plays the way he's capable of playing. But they had Hugh Douglas on to discuss the topic and he said the players that he spoke to that have played against Peters say that he is soft and overrated.
You have to hope that the players Hugh spoke to were referring to last season. Everyone can agree that he wasn't very good last year, presumably because he was mentally checked out due to displeasure with his contract.
But that really has been part of the discussion on Jason Peters. Did the Eagles trade for the beast from two years ago, who Ray considered one of the two best tackles in the NFL along with Walter Jones? Or did they get the soft, overrated hype machine who is going to mail it in because he already got his money?
The answer to that question will tell us a lot as far as how deep the Eagles can into the playoffs.
