Maclin Deal Could Happen Within 24 Hours

According to a source with inside knowledge of the Jeremy Maclin negotiations, the deal could be done as early as today.  Maclin has missed all of the early days and now the first day of full go practice with the entire team.

Andy Reid continues to sound the alarm that Maclin is missing valuable practice time.

The fact that Darrius Heyward-Bey has been signed has been a benefit because he is represented by the same company.

Heyward-Bey got a big increase over what was given to that spot in the draft last year, so you can believe Maclin wants more than the guy got last year at his spot.

This young man has to realize that the agent, Jim Steiner is working for him and not him working for the agent.  Many young players will let agents damage their careers by holding out for the last dollar.

If he gets a good offer that's close to what he wants, he's got to get into camp.

I'm not accusing Steiner of not doing his job properly but many times agents are trying to maximize the money that's going into their own pockets and disregarding what a holdout will do to a player's career.

I'm sure he's watching the television and seeing how he's missing valuable practice time.

Today, the receivers worked meticulously on five routes and ran them over and over.  Repetiion is the key to learning something to the point where it's in your subconscious and you could do it without even thinking about it.

Maclin doesn't want to get in a situation where he lets a "nickel hold up a dollar."  If he gets into camp and becomes a star, the contract he will sign will swamp his rookie deal.

He should get in his agent's face and tell him to get him into camp.
