Notes Today’s Morning Practice 7/31/09

Somebody had better talk to Kendra's husband and tell him to start catching the football.  Hank Baskett isn't a great receiver.

Right now when I think of the receiver group they're probably going to keep and Hank is the last one in line.  He's putting himself jeopardy by dropping balls.

What is it that they see in defensive end Bryan Smith?  This young man was drafted last year.  He was on the injured reserve list all season a year ago.

I see a little guy who isn't that fast or strong.  He doesn't do anything special when he's rushing the passer.  What round was he drafted in again?  Somebody made a mistake on this guy.

Seven foot tall offensive tackle King Dunlap is still having trouble with the straighten bull rush.  He's got to play lower in order to be able to stop a pass rusher in his tracks.

Todd Herremans doesn't look bad at the offensive tackle position.

I've said it again and again that Donovan McNabb is better at throwing the ball down the field than doing the dink and dunk act.

Brent Celek made a nice catch across the middle.  It was a perfect strike from McNabb as he put it in there despite close coverage by one of the linebackers.

He made another great throw to Baskett who hung onto this one.  It was down the field.  For whatever reason, McNabb is better when the Eagles receivers get downfield.

Cornelius Ingram made a great catch with middle linebacker Stewart Bradley draped all over him.

During the team drills, defensive tackle Mike Patterson sacked Kevin Kolb a couple of times.  I guess he's trying to impress the coaches with his pass rush ability to the point where they leave him on the field on third down.

Some how they need to get Chris Gocong in situations where he can rush the passer.  He's one of the best pure pass rushers on the football team.

It's a shame that Gocong isn't playing outside linebacker for a 3/4 team because this young man can pass rush.
