I told you Brian Westbrook is getting antsy on the sidelines up here at Lehigh University. Now he’s taken things to another level.
He went through a workout after practice today with trainer Rick Burkholder as head coach Andy Reid stood by and watched. It was after Reid had spoken to the media.
Westbrook got in his stance and took some handouts. He came out of the backfield and caught some passes. Once this guy starts doing his thing, you appreciate what a weapon the Birds have wearing #36.
The quickness, the body control, the change of direction, yes all of the magic seems to be still there. I don't think he's a 100% but he getting better every time he works out.
With such a public workout, Reid and Westbrook wanted to make sure everybody knew what type of progress he is making. I must say he’s looking good and well ahead of schedule.
I wouldn't let him get back to practicing in the equipment until they get back to the Nova Care Complex. That will give him time to strengthen his ankle in order to be ready for contract.
There's no use in risking injury to the guy who might be your deadliest weapon. They sould continue be careful with the guy who can push this team to the next level.
Burkholder had said he would be back in action by mid August and it’s only the fifth of the month and the guy is out here working out like he’ll be able go very soon. I'd gradually have him doing more and more on the side until the fifteenth.
Giants middle linebacker Antonio Pierce thought his troubles were over when he beat that gun case.
