Don’t Be Shocked By Parker Arrest

Don’t be shocked that Juqua Parker was arrested with some marijuana on him.  In addition don’t be shocked the smell of it was in the car being driven by starting left guard Todd Herremans.

It’s common knowledge to the "people in the know" that some players smoke marijuana for much of the year.

Those players don’t indulge for a month or so before camp, so that they don’t test dirty when they are tested at the beginning of the season.

After the test, they go back to doing their thing.

I think Phil Sheridan makes a good point this morning on Philly.com when he points out how stupid it was for Herremans and Parker to be driving around with marijuana in the car and without their lights on.

I always wondered why so many people speed while doing something else illegal.  They might as well be blowing the horn and yelling “Please Stop Us”.

Now both Parker and Herremans will be tested throughout the year on a random basis because of this incident.
