The Eagles got in a worked outside today despite the rain and inclement weather. Andy Reid stressed the fact that they don't have much time left out there at Lehigh so it was important to get the work done.
Reid thought rookie wide receiver Jeremy Maclin looked a little heavy-legged. It's understandable since players usually have to get their second wind after practicing for a few days.
Maclin has been able to take over from where he started back in the off season. He has started getting behind the secondary and made a nice touchdown catch yesterday.
Yesterday on one play he got behind the secondary in the two-minute drill but Kevin Kolb missed him going down the sideline.
Todd Herremans missed the morning workout because of a swollen ankle.
This was the second day of practice work for left tackle Jason Peters. Right guard Stacy Andrews got in some work as well.
According to Reid, Shawn Andrews is getting better but he has no idea whether he will be ready for the first game of the season. I've been more encouraged in the last few days about Andrews prospects after talking to his teammates.
Peters and Stacy say Shawn is getting better and seem to feel that the Big Kid will be on the field soon.
In good news, DeSean Jackson got in some rehab work outside on his hyperextended knee. He could have worked out if the field had been dry.
Trevor Laws was running on the side today, which is an improvement from what he had been doing.
Stewart Bradley will have surgery on the 11th.
The Eagles aren't going to worry about the New England Patriots until about a day a half before they play them..
