The Eagles are really huriting at the tight end position with Cornelius Ingram going down with the ACL tear.
They have two veterans in Brent Celek and Matt Schobel and two young guys in Eugene Bright and Rob Myers, without any experience. Reid says the Eagles have got to keep their eyes open for tight ends.
They could use some help there desperately even with the signing of Myers.
One guy who he says can help them there is already on the football team.
Fullback Leonard Weaver played tight end in college and could make the transition if it was necessary.
Much of what they ask the tight end do are also duties of the fullback. Weaver is a good receiver and a good blocker.
He could step in there on certain formations and the team wouldn't miss a beat.
Rarely does Reid say something and mention the name of a player without there being something behind it.
I think we're going to see Weaver lined up at the tight end postiion quite a bit this year. That will open up more time for the other backs to play in the single back formations.
