Jon Runyan Has Been Clearned To Run

Jon Runyan has been cleared to run by Dr. James Andrews of Birmingham, Alabama.  Andrews performed Runyan microfracture knee surgery and has been consulted with about his rehabilitation.

Runyan told ESPN's Sal Paolantonio that he'll be able to play football in two weeks.  "I'm cleared to do everything, except hit people.  And I'll be able to do that in about two weeks."

The Eagles have said they will or they won't reach out to Runyan if Shawn Andrews continues to struggle with his back problems, but of course you can see where they would make sense.

Runyan has told me a number of times that he would like to stay here in the Philadelphia area and play for the Eagles rather than go somewhere else in the league.

Jon would be able to avoid having to be away from his family if he played with the Birds and of course he's familiar with the players and the coaching staff.

It's something worth monitoring as the pre-season gets started  and the regular season approaches.
