To Maclin and McCoy Just Another Challenge

Everyday the youngsters, Jeremy Maclin and LeSean McCoy are asked whether they're nervous or not.   They answer politely but they've got to be tired of being asked the same question every time something new happens.

Bottomline, LeSean McCoy and Jeremy Maclin aren't phased by the NFL.

They've been in the spotlight all of their football careers so dealing with high expectations isn't foreign to them.

Let's make it clear, this is what they have been preparing to do for nearly their entire lives. This is what was expected of them.  They're the cream of the crop and have been the cream of the crop for a long time.

I don't expect them to urinate on themselves because they're getting ready to play at Lincoln Financial Field.  They know they have talent and they know they can succeed in the NFL.

They were asked it after the draft, then before mini-camp, then before the OTA's, then before training camp, now before the first game.

They seem to be treating this time in much the same way that they as they did in high school and college.

Go out on the field.  Be yourself and do your thing.

So far so good as far as I'm concerned.  I don't se any reason that success won't continue.  There's no subsitute for talent and these youngsters have it in abundance, plus they're teachable.

They've been soaking up everything they can from their coaches and veteran teammates throughout the OTA's and mini-camps.

What's even more impressive is that they have gone out on the field and done what they were taught.

Marty Mornhinweg says it all the time, certain players are natural players.  They are born with both the athletic skills and they have the mental aptitude to get the job done.

Maclin and McCoy are both in that group.

They need to work as if they're going to be counted on to dominate from day one when the truth of the matter is, Andy Reid doesn't need to get going until later in the season.

They can grow into important roles in this year's offense as the season goes on.

I can't get all doom over a bad practice or two when this is the most talent the Eagles have had on their offense since Donovan McNabb has been on this team.

Are they going to have to get the offensive line some work together?  Yes, but if that line does their jobs, look out defenses in the NFL, the Eagles are going to be explosive.
