I've notice time and again, that they're letting Chris Gocong rush the passer on blitzes off of that tight end side. He's a natural pass rusher and should be able to contribute some big plays via his bltizing this season.
I like the way Gocong uses his hands and is able to quickly counter whatever move the blocker uses. Most of time during practice, Sean McDermott sends him down to rush the passer against the team's offensive linemen in one on one drills which is good preparation for him.
As a 4-3 Sam or strongside linebacker, he's going to be picked up by the halfbacks, fullbacks or tight ends. He's going to have a field day against the league's running backs and tight ends until the offensive coordinators change their blitz-pick up schemes.
This is a minor change which Jim Johnson started utilizing a year ago, but I see McDermott doing it more this year.
I haven't said much about him all training camp but I have noticed number 53 Moise Fokou over and over again. He's got a nasty disposition on the football field and that's not a bad thing.
Any time he covers a running back, he tries to punish him if he gets the chance. He's aggressive and no fun to play against which is what he's supposed to be as a linebacker.
I like the way the kid bltizes with a passion.
There's no question that he caused more fights or near-fights at training camp than any other player.
Fokou plays behind Chris Gocong at the strong side linebacker spot, so he's not going to play much unless Gocong goes down. I expect him to make an impact on the special teams.
