Now that training camp is over, Hall-Of-Fame bound QB Brett Favre is reportedly headed to Minnesota to sign with the Vikings. I guess he didn't want to deal with two-a-day practices in the hot weather.
Normally Vikings head coach Brad Childress was a guy who wouldn't tolerate this type of butt-kissing, but I think his job is on the line and he knows that the quarterbacks he has on his roster are going to get him fired.
I expect Favre to start out strong and fade as the season goes along. I think his body is just recovering from last season when his arm gave out on him.
I don't think Favre's body can hold up to the pounding of the 16 game NFL schedule and I think he's going to hurt something before the season is over. I don't think he's been pushing his body in preperation like the rest of the league.
I say that because the fact that he was hurting so much that he refused to go to training camp tells me that his body is telling him to shut it down.
His love of that thrill that comes from playing is telling to go back out there, but remember what I said when he breaks down.
I remember talking to Hugh Douglas a few years back and Hugh was telling how much his body was hurting. I told him it sounded like it was time.
A couple of days later, Hugh announced his retirement.
