Barring any setbacks, Michael Vick's Eagles debut will come Thursday night against the Jaguars, according to Andy Reid.
“I can’t tell you how much he’s going to play,” Reid said. “I want to see how he does this week.”
None of this is surprising. This is the first preseason game that Vick is eligible to play and it will be interesting to see what they do with him. Preseason football is vanilla to say the least, and Vick was brought here football-wise for reasons that aren't vanilla. Of course Reid isn't going to remotely show what they plan to do with him.
Jason Avant says Vick is ready to finally play.
“Being out of football so long, you know he wants to play,” Avant told Reuben Frank of Phillyburbs.com. “You can look in his eyes and tell. He’s ready to prove people wrong. There are a lot of people who think he’s been out of the game too long, but we know he hasn’t been and he knows it.
“The quality athlete he is, you can’t lose that in two years. He’s one of those guys like Randy Moss who changed the game. You don’t lose that in two years.”
