Reports of the Vikings having a divided lockeroom has gotten so loud and plentiful that Minnesota head coach Brad Childress had to address it publicly. I told you last week that the Vikings were headed toward trouble if Brett Favre didn't get off to a quick start.
Now there are numerous reports out there about the team being divided about their quarterbacks.
One report says that a faction of the Vikings lockeroom are in support of Tavaris Jackson to be the quarterback of the football team.
Leaning on my experience in NFL lockerooms, I know that Favre must win these guys over on the football field. If he doesn't play well, the guys are going to be verbally chopping him down behind his back.
ProFootballTalk.com reported that part of the team is behind Jackson and Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that half the team is behind Sage Rosenfels.
As the season progresses if Favre's arm gives out on him like it did last year, the team is going to be through with Childress.
I do understand why he wanted Favre, but once he turned him down the first time and said he didn't think his body could take it, Childress should have looked for other options.
Remember that Favre has been very open about having a tear in his rotator cuff, which Dr. James Andrews discovered and decided not to operate on or Favre would have missed the entire season.
This is going to be a very interesting season in Minnesota.
