Can you believe the ending of last night's Pirates-Phillies game? The Phils score two in the ninth in heroic fashion only to see Brad Lidge blow yet another save.
How can Charlie continue to hand him the baseball? People aren't even surprised any more.
In the clubhouse after the game Charlie had this to say.
"He's our closer," Manuel said. "I've said it all over the place. That's the guy who we've got."
I understand that Manuel has to say this publicly but he'd better be working behind the scenes on an option.
After the game even Lidge admitted that he didn't have what it takes. "I didn't have anything on the ball tonight", Lidge told reporters.
Something has to be done because when the playoffs star becauset a team can't afford to give away any games by blowing saves.
Remember playoff series are short.
Tell everybody what Charlie should do.
On top of answering the question about what Charlie should do with Lidge, tell us whether you're more worried about Lidge or Cole Hamels.
Both of these got the job done last year in the march to the World Series title but which one of them causes you to lose sleep the most.
