Last Night’s Performance Was Disappointing

What a disappointment last night was in so many ways.  All this hype about Michael Vick's debut then to see the Birds first offense go out there and stink up the place had me ready to leave early.

Clearly the way Andy Reid used Vick last night could wind up hurting the offense more than helping it.  Who does he think he is, Steve Spurrier?

You know how his experiment of shuffling quarterbacks back and forth.  We all know how streaky Donovan McNabb is, so in no way do we need him taking longer to get in a groove.

He started out the game missing Jason Avant a couple of times.   He was high on a throw to Avant going down the seam, then while on the run, he missed Avant who was coming back to the ball on another route.

Later on he made some great throws but the Eagles didnt' get it done in the red zone.  I would say the unsuccessful red zone play was the most disappointing are of their performances.

McNabb threw a hgh lateral pass to McCoy which he couldn't handle and was picked up and returned for a touchdown.

It was first and two on the two and that's the play they decided to run.  This is when they should have been testing their running game.

McNabb also made a nice throw to Hank Baskett from the three yard line and he dropped it.  Baskett has got to make that catch.  He dropped another pass and has put his future in jeopardy because of it.

During the game and after the game, McNabb didn't have any problem stepping in and saying enough is enough, but what's going to happen as the season progresses.

I think what's going to happen is we're going to see trouble if Andy Reid plans on using Michael Vick that much.

This could be a recipe for disaster if they use Vick too much.  They've got to use Vick sparingly, so that McNabb can get into rhythm and his addition can be a plus rather than a minus.
