The Eagles Pass Rush Showed Up Big

The best thing that happened in the game yesterday was the pressure that the Eagles front four put on David Garrard and the other Jacksonville quarterbacks.

It's true that they weren't playing against the Giants offensive line but you can only beat who you're playing and they did a good job against the Jags.

Make no mistake that the Eagles defensive line is the key to their defense.  I know that the Eagles have some outstanding cornerbacks in Asante Samuel and Sheldon Brown but the secondary is dependent upon the boys upfront.

The Birds pass rush made an impact especially the inside pass rushers.

Mike Patterson had a nice pass rush up the middle, which resulted in a sack.  Patterson and Brodrick Bunkley look like they're trying to take a step up in production.

Victor Abiamiri was in there for Darren Howard as a defensive end rushing the quarterback from the defensive tackle spot and he got in the Jag quarterbacks' faces.

A consistent inside pass rush is the best thing you can do as a defensive player because it destroys a passing and running game.

I saw Trevor Laws made a statement with a couple of nice plays and he showed his speed by making a tackle in the backfield.

I want to see this group put on that type of pressure against an established offensive line.
