Donovan McNabb did his weekly news conference today and talked about the rhythm issue which was discussed by offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg yesterday during his time with the media yesterday.
My coworker at 610-WIP sports radio, Howard Eskin asked McNabb if he remembered the conversation he had with Mornhinweg on the sidelines during the game.
Eskin asked the question with the assertion that Mornhinweg had said he didn't remember the conversation. I remember him saying that he did remember the brief talk.
Of course it was all about McNabb asking that the offense be allowed to develop some rhythm before getting into the every other play substituting of Michael Vick into the line up.
It will be an issure which will be talked about all season long and the Eagles do have to develop a plan and get both McNabb and Vick on board with it.
The truth of the matter is that they should have talked to McNabb about how Vick was going to be used before the game last Thursday. I don't think McNabb has earned the right to decide when Vick comes in, but I do think he should be made aware of what the plan is.
It's not a big deal if Vick is used in designated situations which don't disrupt the functioning of the offense but if they used him too much or keep their intentions from McNabb it could result in trouble.
