I must give Rich Hofmann of Philly.com a pat on the back for the article he wrote on Philly.com about Shawn Andrews. He made some excellent points about Eagles fans reaction to Andrews.
First of all I couldnt’ believe the reaction of many of my media colleagues to Andrews putting a video on Youtube. They acted like this was proof that he’s lost his mind.
All I could say was, “What is the big deal”. I saw Reggie White, Jerome Brown and other NFL teammates do things much worse than that. What would those guys have done on Youtube, if it had been available to them back in the day.
Reggie always thought he could sing and do stand up comedy. Jerome thought he was rapper. I know they would have been throwing videos up on Youtube.
Is there something wrong with all the millions and millions of people who put videos on Youtube?
This makes me think of the times when my brothers and sisters called me out, when I’m scolding my children about something they were doing.
Numerous times my brothers and sisters would remind me of things I used to do which were far worse than what I was scolding my children for.
We all get amnesia as we get older. I want to see Shawn Andrews get back on the field and play good football. He could do a million videos on Youtube.
I could care less.
