The players will be walking on pins and needles until Saturday afternoon because the Turk will be on the prowl today and tomorrow. The team has to cut down to 53 so about twenty-two guys are going hear, “the coach wants to see you and bring you playbook”.
Everybody else will be celebrating their Labor Day weekends but the youngsters who get cut will have to learn to pick themselves up and keep on fighting.
Some will use this setback make them great, while others will never recover from the devestating news.
Brandon Gibson is a tough, smart young receiver, who can contribute on special teams, run crisp routes, make the tough catch and play every wide receiver position in this west coast offense. He will be on the 53 man roster.
Reggie Brown will play for somebody else in the league this year but I don’t know yet whether that will happen after he is traded or released.
It’s obvious to any one who saw the Eagles-Jets contest that running back Eldra Buckley will be on the 53 man Eagles roster this year. He’s a fast, tough football player who contributes on special teams, gains tough yardage inside and outside, picks up the blitz and can catch the ball out of the backfield.
Those are all requirements of an Andy Reid running back. Lorenzo Booker stay in touch man when you’re in town.
Jason Babin has shown all of us enough to make this football team. They need every pass rusher they can get, so there’s no way he’s going any where.
Moise Fokou is here but Matt Wilhelm won’t stay around. Fokou is a player who is going to do nothing but get better.
Wilhelm is just a guy with a uniform on. He doesn’t do anything special and he’s probably seen his best days.
Kyle Eckel is probably not going to make the cut. He’s the guy who will be a tough cut for the Birds because he helps them in so many ways.
