New Eagles defensive coordinator Sean McDermott just said, “he would be a bit nervous on Sunday but he’ll be ready to do his job”. He’s going to focus on just being himself.
McDermott didn’t mince words when talking to the media a moment ago and defending the decision to start rookie weak safety Macho Harris. “He has battled and persevered through all of the preseason to get the starting job” said the new defensive head.
Sean says Harris is a natural football player. He wasn’t backing down on his decision to start him, “We wouldn’t put him in this situation if we didn’t think he could do the job”.
When asked about his thinking about starting a fifth round pick in his first year McDermott shot back, “When you draft a player you’re drafting him to come in a be a backup”.
He said Panters running back DeAngelo Williams is a tremendous back and one of the best in the league. McDermott praised Williams’ great vision and great balance.
He said nothing will change for Harris with a talent like Steve Smith lining up at the wide receiver position.
He’s going to play the same type of coverages regardless of the fact that Harris is starting and Smith is capable of taking it the distance on every play.
