If the Eagles can win this game versus Carolina with all of the uncertainty surrounding the football team, they’re going to have a great season in 2009.
Take away costly injuries and regardless of what happens on Sunday in Charlotte, the Eagles are going to get better as a football team as the season progresses. This has been a description of Andy Reid teams as long as he’s been here.
Yes we would like to see them get off to a fast start and they may do just that but chances are they won’t. The only way they win this game on Sunday is if their best offensive players like Donovan McNabb, Brian Westbrook and possibly DeSean Jackson have outstanding performances.
They may have to do it behind inconsistent blocking.
The defense can’t be counted on at this time to be consistent with a new defensive coordinator, Sean McDermott, a banged up second-string middle linebacker, Omar Gaither and rookie weak safety Macho Harris.
