Morning Pregame Talk With The Eagles Offense

The Eagles coaches are going over some last minute instructions to the Birds as they get ready to take the field in their first game of the 2009 season.  This is some of what they’re going to be telling the Birds.

This is what we’ve been working for fellas.  This is what all that lifting, running, OTA’s, mini camps, training camp and preseason was about.  Let’s focus in on what specifically your assignment is.

Let’s concentrate and focus because it’s going to be loud when we have the football.

We want everybody to hydrate as much as you can.  It’s going to be hot out there and the team that’s most prepared for it, is going to win this football game.

We’re not going to wait to attack these guys.  We’re going for their jugular the moment we get our hands on the football.  They want to play ball control, we’re going to force them out of it.

Peters and Justice be smart about not jumping off sides because it’s going to loud in there when we  have the ball.  We’re going to using the silent count so hold your water.

I want everybody aware of where 90 is lining up.  Jamaal, you and the tackles must identify where he is when we slide his way.

Winston, you’ve got your chance to shut everybody up.  Take it out on them.  When you get the chance to bury somebody, do it.

Let’s give Brian some room early because they’ll slow the down the rush.  Just do your job.  If we start having trouble with 90 and their pass rush, we’ll slow them up with some screens and draws.

We’ll also give you some help with tight end help and letting our backs chip him.

Donovan, let’s take what they give you early, don’t force things.  We want to spread it out and give everybody a chance to touch the ball as soon as possible.  DeSean, Brian, Brent, Kevin and Leonard.

Let’s finish off drives when we get the chance to score.  That means we have to communicate and execute.

I want everybody to be on our section of the bench when we don’t have the ball because we’ve got to talk and communicate about what they’re doing.  Don’t keep any secrets.  If you notice something they’re doing, tell everybody else.

Let’s be smart.
