When you thought it could get any stranger, the Eagles have agreed to a one year deal with Jeff Garcia. Now we have Kevin Kolb probably starting on Sunday with Donovan McNabb and Jeff Garcia possibly waiting in the wings.
When Michael Vick gets activated, we’ll have McNabb, Kolb, Vick and Garcia on the same team. They said Jon Gruden had never seen a quarterback that he didn’t want to coach, now the same can be said for Andy Reid.
This is truly amazing to say the least.
Garcia was in training camp with the Oakland Raiders before being released in the last cut. Reports had come out of camp there that he was making a run for Jemarcus Russell’s job.
Here he’s got a shot at playing this week. Obviously this shows that the Birds want to win this game and they’re going to have a veteran quarterback available to take over for Kolb if he doesn’t get the job done.
Everybody’s going to make a lot of noise about how this puts pressure on McNabb but the truth is this puts a lot of pressure on Kolb this week.
If he struggles they going to snatch him.
It also says that they don’t have much confidence in him. How many veteran quarterbacks do they need to acquire to show that they don’t have confidence in him doing the job.
You can see that many of the people in the media are rooting for Kevin Kolb, but he’s going to have to go out there and do the job.
I read where he played better than the Carolina quarterbacks. is that a compliment?
Somebody wrote that he didn’t throw any interceptions. Is that okay when you’re performing horribly.
Being a nice guy isn’t what the requirements are to do this job.
