Reid Won’t Rule Out Letting McNabb Play

McNabb walks off the field Andy Reid isn’t giving up hope that Donovan McNabb will be able to play on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field.  He just met with the local media and emphasized his belief that McNabb’s mental mindset is like that of a linebacker.

He says McNabb will do everything within his power to get ready to play.  Reid said McNabb was positive and even encouraging his teammates after he got hurt on Sunday.

He was getting question after question about why and how he could rationalize letting McNabb play so early in the season.

Big Red said he’s not going to put McNabb out there in a situation where he could make the injury worse, but he wouldn’t rule out letting him play despite all the questions and arguments to the contrary.

McNabb lays on the groundReid said they’re going to wait and see how McNabb feels on Wednesday.  They’ll be able to get a better gauge then about the possibility of him being able to play.

Reid also said that he’s going to take his time about making decisions about the rest of the roster.

From what I heard, it sounds like he’s not going to add another quarterback to the roster.  AlJ. Feeley and Jeff Garcia my get picked up but it doesn’t seem like it’s going to be by the Philadelphia Eagles any time soon.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he goes with a banged up McNabb either starting or backing up Kevin Kolb in the game against the Saints.
