Today Andy Reid was asked more questions about offensive tackle Shawn Andrews than he was asked about Kevin Kolb and Jeff Garcia.
Reid refused to say that Shawn Andrews’ inability to get on the field and stay healthy had anything to do with his mental and emotional state. According to Reid, Andrews has a sore back and that’s the main problem.
“He has a sore back. Its been recurring,” Reid said “It’s that simple … He’s not able to function right now.”
The head coach said they’re working on setting up a way to get Shawn doing his rehabilitation out in California with Dr. Watkins who is the surgeon who performed surgery on his back.
I know that there are quite few people in the Eagles organization who don’t believe Shawn’s back problem in legitimate.
The media tried to pull it out of Andy today but he was biting on any of it and stuck to his story, that Andrews’ problem are all physical.
I don’t know whether Shawn Andrews has back pain that keeps him out of action or not because I can’t read his mind.
I know what it takes to play with pain and to ‘man up” and go out on the NFL football turf despite having an injury. Despite that knowledge I still can’t look in Andrews’ eyes and know whether he is hurt or not.
Everybody that says they can isn’t being honest.
