Eagles defensive end Victor Abiamiri missed practice today for the second day in a row because of a groin injury. This kid continues to have major problems trying to stay healthy.
Abiamiri is listed as questionable for the game. He missed most of training camp and that’s after having trouble staying healthy in the first couple of years of his career
Victor picked up a fumble last Sunday and scored a touchdown. He also was quite active making tackles and putting pressure on the Panthers quarterback Jack Delhomme.
He did a very good job of using his power and speed to put pressure on the passer from the defensive tackle position on 3rd downs. The combination of Abiamiri and Darren Howard coming up the middle, made it impossible for Delhomme to step up and it distracted him as he tried to throw the football.
He’s the biggest and most powerful of the Birds defensive ends, so they expect him to contribute as part of their run stopping group.
