Michael Vick Says He Was The Wildcat Originator

Vick preparing to pass at practiceMichael Vick was interviewed today on Philadelphia-Eagles.com he said he’s not here to try to take Donovan McNabb’s job, he’s here to help him and the Eagles be the best team they can be.

Vick says he appreciates McNabb and how he helped get him here.

Vick says he was the first quarterback to run the Wildcat offense so he titled himself the Wildcat originator.  He talked about the success he had in Atlanta as a running quarterback.

You could tell that he’s got an excellent understanding of the Wildcat offense and the problems it creates for the defenses it faces.

Vick ran for over a thousand yards in a season because of the development of the Wildcat.

Vick talked to the media in the Eagles lockeroom and said he will take his game back to the top.

“I’m still going to be aggressive,” said Vick. “Nothing is going to change about me on the field. I’m still going to be that same player — dynamic in whatever way I can. Not doing too much. Superman may not be ready to return as of right now, but he will in the future.”

Vick says he has his legs back and he’s ready to give his best effort to help this football team.  He’s been training everyday and working on the small things to take his game to the next level.

He praises Andy Reid, Marty Mornhinweg, James Urban and everybody else in the Eagles organization.  He says all the guys he works with have been great for him to work with to improve his quarterback skills.

He said he tries to soak everything in.
