Let me make it plain, if Donovan McNabb, Brian Westbrook and DeSean Jackson don’t get close to 100% healthy, the Eagles could struggle to win their game this weekend against the Kansas City Chiefs.
They might be able to win any way with the second and third team guys but it’s not a definite without their best players.
The key guy is Jackson because he should be able to go.
He does everything for the Birds and allows them to score from any where on the field. He’s the Eagles most explosive weapon and has contributed two big scoring plays in each game played thus far this year.
Jackson makes the entire offense better because he draws double-teams and opens up the field to everyone else. Without Jackson the Chiefs defense will come up and clamp on the receivers much more aggressively.
If McNabb doesn’t play there’s a good chance they will turn the ball over a few times with young Kevin Kolb learning his craft. It’s understandable that a young quarterback turns the ball over but it also means there will be more of a chance to lose as well.
McNabb will probably be held out another week. Andy Reid is continuing to play the game of keeping the chances open that Five will play so it makes the defense prepare for him.
It doesn’t make any sense to make McNabb vulnerable to a hit that could set him back for the rest of the season, when they could wait another week, then extend through the bye week and have him 
healthy and ready to go the rest of the way.
I don’t know that Westbrook is ever going to be himself again. This is a tremendous setback for the Birds.
He sprained the same ankle that he had surgery on during the off season.
It’s got to be frustrating for him and the rest of the squad because they know how dominating he can be if he’s healthy.
LeSean McCoy can provide some of what Westbrook brings to the table but he’s not as explosive as a healthy Westbrook, plus he brings a big negative. The kid is a fumbler.
He’s got to do a much better job of protecting the football.
Turnovers do three things. They kill teams’ chances of winning. They kill the careers of players and they get coaches fired.
You see how everybody seems to deemphasize McCoy’s fumbles but they are a big deal. Interceptions, fumbles and any other kind of turnover is a big deal.
Did you notice how a couple of turnovers deep in the Eagles territory quickly ended any chance they had of winning on Sunday?
