Adam Caplan of Scout.com was over at Eagles practice today tweeting away, and he reports that Kevin Curtis is listed as doubtful for Sunday and that Jeremy Maclin would start if he can’t go.
He thinks it’s interesting that Maclin would start in place of Curtis because Maclin is better in the slot.
“even so, maclin is best in slot, so r. brown still could be a factor,” he tweets.
It would be interesting to see what the Eagles do if Curtis can’t go. Would they really consider putting the more experienced Reggie Brown out there? Say what you want about Brown (and you have), but he is a capable outside receiver and knows the offense. They would have to be pretty comfortable with where Maclin is and/or really soured on Reggie Brown (or some combination of the two) to let the kid start.
We’ll see what happens, but if Maclin starts and plays well it’s the official beginning of the end for Curtis in Philadelphia.
